These horns are all like new and were used to show the various models at Vince's "Hoyer Horn Days" he hosted every year in his backyard overlooking the mountains of SoCal. It has some wear and use and is sold as is as a bargain horn. It's a great player. The hand engraving is jaw dropping gorgeous. There is some lacquer shattering that is purely cosmetic. The valves have not yet been broken in. The serial number on the hand slide grip has been worn through but the serial is still intact on the outer slide tube. This is an old school Alexander contrabass trombone in the key of F. I suspect its probably from the early 1950s. Comes with a stock 4G mouthpiece and the original case. I've only seen a handful of horns with the SPEC stamp and they all seem to be unique and all built around this time period. I speculate it's larger than most but I'll need to reconfirm the bore size. There are a few small dings in the flare but otherwise the instrument is very clean. It's a great horn. Somewhat rare in the USA, think of this F tuba as the BMW of the tubas. The Conn 88HCL features the oversized "Christian Lindberg" valve, a 8.5" standard weight red brass bell, gold brass slide and fixed lead pipe. It its gold brass, has a F attachment and takes a standard large shank bass trombone mouthpiece. $1800, Stunning vintage .547" large tenor trombone made by Yamaha in 1987 for their centennial anniversary. This is a good instrument for someone looking to learn alto, pick it up as a hobby or looking for an inexpensive decent instrument. Being braced so lightly, it becomes excited when you start playing it. You'll notice a Strickler horn has a pronounced bell flare which gives the horn a tight and bright sound.
